British Publisher to Launch First Female- Oriented Online Gambling Magazine
For the first time ever, a British magazine company has announced plans to launch a female- focused online gambling resource magazine.
The print media company Future will add a magazine aimed especially at female internet gaming fans to its online gambling resource repertoire. The company already publishes one male- geared online gambling resource magazine, Online Gambler, and plans to begin distribution of another title, World Poker Tour, this week.
Dom Beavin, the publishing director of all of Future’s online gambling resource titles, said that there is definitely room in the market for a woman’s online gambling resource.
"Female consumers are active in this market and there is certainly advertising there. While our existing titles don't exclude female consumers we definitely think there is space there for an all-female title."
Although Beavin said that it is hard to pinpoint the future online gambling resource magazine’s customer profile, he did say that the expected customer will be in her 20s, 30s, or 40s.
A survey published last week by YouGov found that 30- 49% of British online gaming players are female, and that 14% are 18-29 years of age.
